FORENSICS "You Don't Have to Win, But You Have to Fight"

Notes on Forensics "You Don't Have to Win, But You Have to Fight." 10"/CD/Digital: This is the latest recording from the band I've suddenly been doing for the last 7 years. I say "suddenly" because the last full length we did was in 2004, yet it doesn't feel like it at all. This 10"/CD is four songs and, this time around, we wanted to retain a lot of the heaviness that most of our music has had in the past, yet try out some more traditional song structures. Verse-chorus-verse type shit. I also wanted to actually spend some time working on the vocals and NOT just have them be an afterthought scrawled onto notebook paper in the driveway of whatever studio, literally minutes before recording them on the last day booked. So we did all that, recorded the tracks, did the vocals, mixed with John Congleton, mastered with Nick Zampiello, and sent it out to be made. I'm really happy with how it all turned out and I hope you dig it. Being able to still write songs, play them with friends, and make records after all these years is literally the only thing keeping me from driving tanks through shopping malls, so I certainly appreciate each and every opportunity to keep doing these things.

BALBOA & PLAGUE SERMON split LP up in the webstore now

Notes on Balboa & Plague Sermon "Split" LP : In a transatlantic collaborative effort, Philadelphia's BALBOA and Virginia's Magic Bullet Records team up with Brighton's PLAGUE SERMON and Midmarch Records put forth a split LP featuring exclusive tracks from both bands. Building upon previous output on the now-defunct Level Plane label, BALBOA deliver 4 passionate and politically-charged bouts of unfiltered rage and discontent with a tight brand of pinpoint precision and wide open sonic force. PLAGUE SERMON complements BALBOA well, playing an emotionally-charged brand of hardcore that you'd expect to find in a sweaty 90's basement somewhere in the midwest. Limited to only 100 domestic copies, I've only got 32 of them left for mailorder.
